Preview: Lads head to Watford

Sunderland are back on the road for the final time this season in the Sky Bet Championship when they travel to Vicarage Road on Saturday to face Watford.

Here is all you need to know ahead of the clash...

Opposition

Watford are 15th in the Sky Bet Championship table with 53 points from 44 games. The Hornets have collected 12 wins, 17 draws, and suffered 15 defeats so far this campaign.

Following Tom Cleverley’s appointment, Watford have lost just one of their last seven league matches, keeping four clean sheets in the process. Only play-off hopefuls Southampton have secured maximum points through a 99th-minute strike by Flynn Downes.

Mileta Rajovic leads the way with goals, having found the back of the net 11 times in 16 starts. However, the Danish striker has not started for the Hornets in their last 11 fixtures.

Yaser Asprilla is another to keep an eye on, with 13 goal contributions, while fellow frontman Vakoun Bayo has had 10 goal involvements to his name so far this campaign.

The last time the two sides faced off, goals from Niall Huggins and Abdoullah Ba were enough to seal all three points in a 2-0 win at the Stadium of Light.
