View from the opposition: Warburton on Sunderland

Mark Warburton is primed and ready for a tough battle on Wearside tonight.

Nottingham Forest head to the Stadium of Light tonight, kick-off 7.45pm, chasing their first win over Sunderland on Wearside since 1993.

However, Warburton’s main focus will be on getting a response from his players after their 3-1 defeat on Saturday at Sheffield Wednesday left them without a win two league matches.

But as Warburton’s side head to Sunderland, the former Glasgow Rangers boss doesn’t want to take anything for granted.

"It is a huge club with a very talented squad," Warburton told Forest’s official club website. "If you look at the names there is no doubt about that but this is a tough league and they will be looking for a result.

"We will be looking for a positive three points. We go there and we know that we face a tough challenge and, I say it week in week out, there are no easy games in this division.

"We will prepare well, travel up today and look forward to what we know will be a tough encounter.

"There is no respect shown in certain areas and you have to prepare well and deliver the performance and if you don't, you pay the price,” he continued.

"The games are so tight and the margins are fine, but you have to work hard every day and find that extra one per cent as preparation is key."
