Callum McManaman: I want to excite the fans and get stuck in!

Callum McManaman wants to excited Sunderland's fans and get them off their seats this season.

The 26-year-old joined the Black Cats from Premier League club West Bromwich Albion on Deadline Day, becoming the club’s 10th summer signing.

Signing alongside Marc Wilson and Jonny Williams in a hectic final day of the summer transfer window, McManaman, who is a pacey winger, penned a two-year deal at the Stadium of Light as he looks to spark life into his career once again.

And speaking to safc.com, McManaman shared his excitement to get started in red and white while also revealing what Sunderland's fans can expect from him.

“I am made up to get it done,” he said.

“It has been hard the last year or so not playing and not being involved so I am just looking forward to get playing again and enjoying it.

“I want to help this club get back to where it belongs as well as get playing and enjoying it again.

“It is a massive club and it has a massive fan base. I have played against the club loads of times so you notice that when you are playing.

“The facilities (they have here) are of a Premier League club and everyone can see that. I am looking forward to getting going.

“(The gaffer) seems sound and all the lads have said good things about him so I am looking forward to working with him and getting playing under him,” he continued.

“It is massive because if the gaffer believes in you it gives you a lot more confidence.

“I want to play under big support, you can see how passionate they are here so I am looking forward to getting going.

“I love getting at players and beating my man. I love getting the fans off their seats so that’s what I want to be doing that as well as getting stuck in.”
