Team News: Dodds hoping for triple boost for Easter

Interim Head Coach Mike Dodds is hopeful of receiving a triple boost in the next few weeks with members of the squad working their back to full fitness.

Corry Evans, Aji Alese and Bradley Dack have stepped up their training regimes as the Lads head into the international break.

Evans has been on the sidelines for over a year conducting rehabilitation from a long-term knee injury whilst Alese and Dack have missed up to three months of action.

The trio are set to feature for the Under-21s over the next fortnight in a bid gain competitive minutes on the pitch.

Dodds said: “The break will be important. I think we will get two or three bodies back closer to the team. Corry, Aji and Dacky are all back training with the team so they will be three huge positives going into the Easter Weekend.

“Patrick Roberts and Jack Clarke, it may be a weekend too early for them but we will see how their bodies react.”

Ahead of this weekend’s game against Queens Park Rangers, Nazariy Rusyn has been ruled out after picking up a knock against Southampton. Jenson Seelt will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury.

Dan Ballard faces a late fitness test ahead of the game at the Stadium of Light.
