Loan watch: Lens assists late winner

Jeremain Lens – Fenerbache 1-0 1299 Osmanlispor

Jeremain Lens completed 90 minutes as Fenerbahce returned to winning ways in dramatic circumstances.

The Dutchman provided a stoppage-time assist for Mehmet Topal to secure a 1-0 win as Dick Advocaat’s side moved up to third in the Turkish Super Lig.

The result extended Fener’s unbeaten run at home to nine games.

Tom Beadling – Bury 1-2 Gillingham

Tom Beadling made his second start of the week as Bury were beaten 2-1 by Gillingham.

After featuring in a win over Coventry City on Tuesday, the on-loan defender lined up against the Gills and he went close to opening the scoring.

But after applying immense pressure early on Bury found themselves behind on 14 minutes, with Bradley Dack opening the scoring before Cody McDonald made it 2-0 after the restart.

James Vaughan pulled one back with 75 minutes played and Bury struck the woodwork on two occasions in the second period, but they were unable to find an equaliser.

Tom Robson – Match abandoned

Tom Robson’s loan action was cut short this weekend due to floodlight failure.

Limerick’s SSE Airtricity League Premier Division fixture with Derry City was plunged into darkness after just 25 minutes, with the match abandoned at 1-1 after goals from Dean Clarke and Ronan Curtis.

Robson was included in the starting XI.

Will Buckley – Back in training

Will Buckley is closing in on a first-team return with Sheffield Wednesday after returning to training and featuring for the Owls’ under-23 side.

He didn’t feature, however, in Saturday’s 5-1 Championship win over Norwich City.

Adam Matthews – Not selected

Adam Matthews was once again omitted from Bristol City’s matchday squad as Lee Johnson’s side played out a goalless draw with Burton Albion
