Boxing day: Love on United reunion

Donald Love is unfazed by Manchester United’s recent run of form, insisting anything can happen at the Theatre of Dreams.

An academy product of United’s, Love knows exactly what the expectations are when you are the home side at Old Trafford.

With four straight victories in all competitions, Jose Mourinho’s side have certainly turned their Premier League fortunes around as they strive to close the gap on the top four.

However, Sunderland travel to Manchester on Boxing Day on the back of a valuable three points and a clean sheet over Watford.

And as both sides prepare to see what the festive period brings, Love hailed the importance of the victory over the Hornets to safc.com, admitting that’ll help breed confidence ahead of his Manchester United return.

“It’s a great win and it came at a vital time with a trip to Manchester United next week,” he said.

“Hopefully now we can go into that game with a bit of confidence – you never know what might happen.

“We have got a tight-knit group in training and you can see that out on the pitch because everyone is working for each other and everyone is coming together which is great.”
