Preview: Boss looking to pressure Gunners

Sunderland will give Arsenal ‘one hell of a game’ when the Gunners travel to Wearside according to manager Sam Allardyce.

The Black Cats returned to winning ways with a dazzling demolition of Norwich City at Carrow Road, as Fabio Borini, Jermain Defoe and Duncan Watmore found the net in an emphatic 3-0 win.

Arsenal are next on the agenda with the Gunners aiming to cement their place in the top four, but their form has suffered in recent weeks with Arsene Wenger’s side winning two of their last six in all competitions.

And speaking to safc.com the Sunderland manager challenged his player to build on a vital three points.

“My fear on Saturday was would be able to handle the pressure,” said Allardyce.

“We put enormous pressure on ourselves by not winning the games we should have done, but we handled that pressure superbly and won 3-0.

“Hopefully now the pressure will be released a little bit for when we come to play Arsenal, and we will give them one hell of game.”

He added: “It’s going to be a tough one as we know, but we need to try and take some points from it and move forward.”
