SAFC stars shine on the international stage.

Sunderland stars were making the headlines following last night's round of World Cup qualifying games.

Seb Larsson was instrumental in two of Sweden's goals in their 3-5 defeat at the hands of Germany, the midfielder pitched in with two sublime crosses from the right to tee up for Sunderland man Tobias Hysen.

In Dublin John O'Shea scored only his second ever international goal in Ireland's win over Kazakhstan. The defender's previous goal for the Green Army was a little over a decade ago.

Elsewhere, Jozy Altidore captained the USA to victory over Panama, while David Vaughan played a full 90 minutes for Wales and Emanuele Giaccherini sat out of Italy's 2-2 draw with Armenia.
