Sunderland head coach Gus Poyet was frank in his post match assessment following his side's goalless draw with Norwich City.

"I’m disappointed, I was expecting more from the team." Poyet told SAFSee after the final whistle.

The Canaries frustrated the hosts with some dogged defending, restricting Sunderland to shooting from distance, with Phil Bardsley and Lee Cattermole both going close to breaking the deadlock in the first half.

"We've used excuses before," Poyet continued. "Because we've been playing top teams at the Stadium of Light, but we were not good enough to win today.

"I don’t care about the other results, we need to be looking after ourselves.

"It was a very disappointing day."
