Egan heads to Valley Parade.

Sunderland’s John Egan has joined Bradford City on loan until the New Year.

The 20-year-old will remain at Valley Parade until 5 January 2013 and could make his debut against Chesterfield on Tuesday evening.

Phil Parkinson’s side currently sit fifth in Npower League Two, four points outside the automatic promotion places.

Egan, a Republic of Ireland under-21 international, was named in Sunderland’s first-team squad for the pre-season trip to South Korea, making his senior debut during the tour.

He was handed a squad number ahead of the 2012-13 season and has also previously had loan spells at Crystal Palace and Sheffield United, making a combined three appearances.
