Midfielder fires Hull to victory.

Sunderland loan star David Meyler notched his first goal for Hull City to fire the Tigers to their third consecutive away victory.

The midfielder headed home from a rebound just before the half time break to send City on their way to a 2-1 victory that saw them move up to fourth in the Championship.

Over in League One, striker Ryan Noble was an unused substitute in Hartlepool United’s defeat to Stevenage.

Pools have now equalled a record run of 20 games without a win.

Black Cats Blair Adams didn’t  have the best of starts in Coventry City’s League Two outing with Walsall.

The full-back put through his own net in the first quarter of the game at the Ricoh Arena, however, that set-back seemed to fire his side into action.

Three goals either side of half-time saw City rack up their biggest home win under boss Mark Robins as they pounded their struggling West Midland neighbours to run out 6-1 winners.
