U21s set for Villa test

Team news ahead of Barclays U21 Premier League action.

Birthday boy Kevin Ball takes his under-21s to Aston Villa in the Barclays U21 Premier League tonight.

The former Sunderland captain will be looking for his side to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat to Southampton in their last game – their first loss since the opening day of the season.

Ben Wilson (pictured) wins a recall to a young squad after returning from his loan spell at Npower League Two side Chesterfield.

Wilson replaces Jordan Pickford, who is away on international duty with England.

In-form striker Mikael Mandron has also been included following his brace for the under-18s in their 3-1 weekend win over Villa on Wearside.

The two sides are neck-and-neck in the league with nine points apiece from seven games. Their records are identical, with two wins, three draws and just two defeats each.

The game kicks off at 7pm at the Greene King Stadium, home of Hinckley United.
