Sunderland AFC continues its support of the Royal British Legion with a limited edition poppy pin badge which is set to go on sale in club stores this week.
The bespoke badges feature the traditional poppy emblem alongside the club crest and all proceeds of the sale of the item will go to the forces charity.
First introduced last season, a limited edition of 1,000 badges sold out in just days. This year the Royal British Legion have commissioned 2,000 badges to meet demand, which will be available to purchase from club stores at the Stadium of Light and the Galleries in Washington. The badges are priced at £3, the entire sum of which is donated to the Royal British Legion.
Sunderland’s Jack Rodwell, pictured with one of the badges, said: “The work carried out by the Royal British Legion is so important in supporting veterans and every penny raised through the sale of these badges will help to make a difference to the lives of those who have sacrificed so much in the line of duty”.
