Dugout: New digital platform

Sunderland AFC will unveil an official presence on Dugout, a new digital content platform, later this week.

Dugout’s launch was announced this morning, with Sunderland joining a number of other Premier League clubs including Manchester City and Liverpool.

The new platform will roll out globally this week and clubs across Europe and beyond have signed up.

Dugout is free to use and will host content created by clubs and players, with some being available 24 hours before being launched on any other media channel.

Sunderland AFC’s head of digital, Stuart Vose, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with an exciting new venture in Dugout.

“The calibre of clubs involved in this venture is testament to the platform’s promise and we look forward to working with Dugout to deliver a quality digital experience for fans.”

Dugout President and Co-Founder, Elliot Richardson, added:

“Dugout was devised and built for the fans. The game today is truly global and fans don’t just want to watch matches in their own country – they want to follow their favourite clubs and players across the world, on and off the pitch.

“That’s what Dugout offers - unrivalled access so fans get behind the scenes of the clubs and into the lives of the players.”

The service will be available on desktop, tablet and mobile and will launch in a number of languages.
