The Stadium of Light will now host Monday's Under-21 Premier League 2 fixture against Middlesbrough FC (7pm).
The league clash was originally scheduled to be played at Eppleton CW but will now see the young Black Cats play their penultimate home game on Wearside.
Both sides sit in the top 10 of the PL2 with three games remaining to secure a play-off spot and qualification for next season's International Cup.
Tickets are priced at £3 per adult with all concessions just £1.

Academy Manager, Robin Nicholls added: “The game on Monday presents a great opportunity for our young players to experience football at the Stadium of Light once again.
“These experiences are crucial tools in the development of the boys as it affords them a set of playing circumstances that aligns closer to what they will experience at first team level.
“With Middlesborough being the opponents, it also brings together two teams who are fighting in the top 10 of the PL2, both with ambitions to qualify for the play-offs and next seasons PL International Cup through their final league position."
