The Black Cats clinched their first win of the campaign last term as Lee Connelly’s first-half goal handed Elliott Dickman’s side a huge morale boost.

The result sees Sunderland remain bottom of the league, however having cut the gap on Wolverhampton Wanderers to just four points.

Dickman’s youthful side now welcome the other West Midland’s club West Bromwich Albion to the AoL with high hopes of recording a seismic back-to-back victories.

The Baggies have experienced a mix bag of form lately as they have lost three of their last five league fixtures.

Back-to-back defeats against Stoke City and Middlesbrough ended when West Brom earned a point at Everton.

That was then followed by an impressive three points at Newcastle United before league-leaders Manchester City defeated the Baggies last time out.
