Stars set for Sunderland comeback.
One of the UK’s most popular boybands is heading back to the North East.
Teen sensations The Vamps, who recently made an appearance on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent, will be performing at blinkbox music North East Live at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on Sunday, June 22.
The group, whose debut album reached number two in the UK charts when it was released this spring, were among the most popular performers at the inaugural North East Live in 2013 and say they can’t wait to return.
Bass guitarist and vocalist Connor Ball, said: “We’re all super excited. There was a brilliant atmosphere last year and we’re really looking forward to coming back. Sharing the stage with Jessie J will be great and we really like Neon Jungle and Jason Derulo.
“Unfortunately, because of our schedule, it’s going to be a short visit, which is a shame, because we’d really love to explore the area a bit. But with any luck we will be able to stay for the whole show though and see all the other acts.”
The Vamps, who will be performing their top hits, Can We Dance, Wild Heart and Last Night, are among a host of big name stars appearing at blinkbox music North East Live 2014.
The family-friendly event, which will run from 2pm until 10pm, also includes performances form Rizzle Kicks, The Saturdays, Katy B, Jason Derulo, Union J, Rixton, Neon Jungle and the day’s headliner, Jessie J.
Gary Hutchinson, Commercial Director for SAFC, said: “The Vamps were a huge hit at North East Live 2013. Since then they’ve achieved fantastic success around the world and we are absolutely delighted to welcome them back to Wearside.”
