Russ makes his debut, Crossan inspires victory and more!

1991 – Jarrow born Craig Russell made his Black cats debut in a 3-1 home win over Watford.

1963 – A Johnny Crossan double fired the Lads onto a 3-0 victory over Grimsby Town  moving them up to the top spot in  Division Two.

1928 – Welsh international Ray Daniel was born. Daniel featured in Sunderland’s defence during the 1950s.
