Sunderland will kick off the 2013-14 Barclays Premier League season with a home game against Fulham.
Paolo Di Canio’s side will welcome the Cottagers to the Stadium of Light on Saturday 17th August to get their seventh successive top-flight season under way.
Meanwhile the Black Cats will also close the campaign on Wearside, facing Swansea City on Sunday 11th May.
Their first encounter with a newly promoted side comes just three games into the schedule with a trip to Crystal Palace on August 31.
The derby dates against Newcastle United have been pencilled in for October 26 at the Stadium of Light with the return on February 1 on Tyneside.
Sunderland’s Christmas schedule is a busy one, kicking off with a home game against Norwich on December 21 followed by a Boxing Day trip to Everton and a game at Cardiff two days later.
Di Canio’s side then return to Wearside to kick off 2014 with a home game against Aston Villa on New Year’s Day.
