In addition to paid staff, we offer volunteer opportunities within our Education, Football Development, Finance and Administration departments.

Trainee Administration Officer – Football and Sports Development
The main duties are to provide administrative support to senior staff within the Football and Sports Development Department which includes Telephone reception, customer service, course bookings and payment processing of all Football and Sports Development Courses.  This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience and qualifications in a real work setting.  Applicants aged between 16-18 years are invited to apply.  We will also consider applications from 19-25 years old.

Functional Skills Officer - Full Time
This nationally recognised scheme uses the power of football to educate young people throughout   the   North   East    giving   them   the  skills   and   qualifications   to   progress   into employment        or  further   education.    The    Study    Programme       requires    innovative    and inspiring tutors to teach 14-24 year olds in Functional Skills programmes, helping them obtain    BTEC      Level   1   and   2  qualifications.   This    post    specifically    requires      the candidate to have a Level 5 subject specialism in Maths or English.

Wider Family Learning Officer - Full Time (based Chester-le-Street)
This nationally renowned scheme which reconnects parents with education through the power of football; requires an innovative tutor to coach families in issues surrounding child development, health and nutrition.  Informal youth-work sessions on our Kicks project will also form a part of this role.

Business Development Manager – Full Time
A fantastic opportunity to join Sunderland Football Clubs official charity, SAFC Foundation of Light within the Commercial department. This exciting role will work across a number of areas of business, with a particular focus on football/sport related sales:

-       International football and sport projects

-       Matchday Experiences at SAFC Premier League games

-       Develop and sell sponsorship and partnership opportunities

-       Identifying grant/funding opportunities

-       Develop and sell corporate events

-       Corporate Membership and Corporate Partnerships

A dynamic and entrepreneurial individual is required to develop and sell Foundation products to new and existing customers.  The successful candidate will have an innovative and energetic approach to the development of sales, be a self-starter, have a hunger for achieving new sales, an ability to work under pressure and experience of working to and achieving set sales targets. This honest and committed individual will have a comprehensive knowledge of recent developments in the marketplace, be customer focussed and able to communicate with all sectors of the community. The successful candidate will comfortable in both direct sales to the end customer and in developing successful, long standing partnerships with agents and resellers.

The individual will be passionate about delivering the highest possible quality product with a fastidious attention to high levels of customer service. The post holder will be an enthusiastic, forward thinking, driven and innovative sales professional who has the experience and passion to create new business and develop existing links and possess a minimum of two years recent business development/sales experience. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to and deliver a sales and marketing strategy for this key department within the Foundation of Light.
