Players smartened up by newly named centre.
Fashion is about to strike in Sunderland and, thanks to one of the UK’s leading shopping centres, everyone has the chance to ‘jazz up’ their look.
The recently re-branded intu Metrocentre, which houses a host of stores, eateries and entertainment outlets, has signed up to sponsor Fashion Strikes 2013 in aid of SAFC’s official charity, the Foundation of Light.
The All that Jazz themed-event, which takes place at the Stadium of Light on Monday, November 25, will see a number of SAFC players and models strutting their stuff in clothes supplied by intu Metrocentre’s high street and designer stores.
Stylists from the shopping mecca will also be on hand throughout the night to deliver styling tips and offer visitors the chance to purchase clothes direct from the catwalk.
Karen Carr, Marketing Manager from intu Metrocentre said: “Working with the Foundation of Light give us an opportunity to help thousands of young people and their families across the North East through a broad range of innovative programmes that help change their lives for the better.
“It is also a great opportunity to take intu Metrocentre fashions out on the road and showcase the variety of brands we have here at the Centre from high street to high end.”
Fashion Strikes, which also includes a three-course dinner, as well as a series of raffles and auctions, is raising money for the Foundation of Light’s education and sports-based programmes, which benefit more than 42,000 young people and families across the North East every year.
Phil King, Head of Commercial at the Foundation of Light, said: “Thanks to intu Metrocentre the models at Fashion Strikes will all be hitting the catwalk in the latest styles and I’m sure a lot of guests will also be leaving with some new pieces for their wardrobes.”
