Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a minimum booking?
There is no minimum booking size, however, please note that smaller parties may be joined by another party to complete the table. The maximum table size is 12 people, so larger groups may be seated across multiple tables.
How do I pay for my booking?
All payments can be paid for online or over the phone on 0191 5515094. Pre-orders for drinks can be ordered over the phone or via an order link that will be sent out to you prior to your event.
I have pre-ordered a drinks package, how do I get it during my visit?
Your drinks package will be available on your table when you arrive. We also operate a purchase bar should you require further drinks during your visit. Please note, the Stadium of Light is a cashless venue and we can take all debit and credit card payments excluding American Express.
What is the dress code?
Match our party atmosphere and dress to impress! No t-shirts, jeans, sportswear, or sports trainers will be allowed at our Christmas Party nights. Christmas lunch and Festive Afternoon Tea are smart casual. NYE Red & White Ball is Black Tie.
Are there any age restrictions?
The Christmas Party Nights are for those 18 years and over. We operate ‘Challenge 25’ at the bar, please be prepared to show proof of age when purchasing alcohol. We do offer children’s tickets for our Christmas Lunch and Festive Afternoon Tea offers.
Can we increase the size of our booking?
We are able to add more people to your booking if we have availability. Please contact us as soon as possible at events@safc.com or 0191 5515094 to confirm and pay for any additional places.
Can we make separate payments for each party member?
Please contact the Events team via phone on 01915145094 and we will be happy to discuss this option with you.
What about any food allergies?
Please let us know when you make your booking. We can provide you with full allergen information upon request.
Is there car parking available?
Yes, we offer free on-site car parking for our guests outside of the West Stand.
Are these ticketed events?
We do not print tickets for our Christmas events. A host will welcome you as you arrive at the Stadium and your names will be on the guest list. The party/group name supplied will be listed on the table(s) at the event.
Terms & Conditions
Booking your event
To make a booking please call our Conference & Events team to discuss your party requirements. We will send email confirmation of reservation. Full payment is due at the time of booking for parties below 20 guests. For more than 20 guests, an invoice can be generated for full payment within 14-days. Your booking will be provisionally held for 14- days, if no payment is received then your booking will be released.
Pre-ordering drinks packages
Additional drink packages can be ordered via our Conference & Events team and must be paid for at the time of booking. The final date to place preorders for drinks is seven days prior to your event.
Payment
Payment can be made by credit/debit card for below 20 guests and a BACS transfer option is available for parties larger than 20 guests if required. Cash will not be accepted. If paying by BACS, your event booking reference should be used as a payment reference. Individual payments for individual places will not be accepted.
Number of guests
If you wish to increase your numbers every effort will be made to accommodate additional guests, however we cannot guarantee it will be possible.
Transfer booking
Sunderland AFC reserve the right to move any booking to an alternative suite, venue or date should the facilities reserved become unavailable for any reason whatsoever. Prior notice at the earliest opportunity will be given. The Club may cancel the booking if the date clashes with any Sunderland AFC first team home fixture, where upon the Club will refund the client all advance payment, but will have no further liability to the client.
Price alterations
All prices are subject to alteration, generally due to changes in the rates of VAT, Customs and Excise Duty or unforeseen increases in the price of raw materials.
Full private use of facilities
When a suite is reserved for the sole private use of a party, there may be a room hire charge levied and a requirement for the party size to be not less than an agreed minimum number, dependent on the suite booked.
Cancellation of booking
Any cancellations, non-arrivals or decrease in numbers for whatever reason, whether individual guests or groups, made after payment will forfeit all monies paid. No monies are refundable, bookings are nontransferable and no substitute in the form of any other service is offered.
Bar facilities
We are fully licensed and offer a comprehensive bar and wine service and, in this respect, under no circumstances may guests bring their own drinks on to the premises or consume any drinks that may have been obtained via raffles, or similar. We do not operate bar tab facilities.
Special diets
All our menu choices carry a vegetarian alternative. We request that party organisers inform us in advance of any dietary requirements, ideally at the time of booking but no later than 2-weeks prior to the event.
Dress code
The management respectfully request that all guests dress smartly. In the interest of our guests, we reserve the right to refuse access to any guest who, in our opinion, is improperly dressed.
Christmas Gifts
Please note that due to safety reasons Christmas gifts are not permitted. We cannot allow wrapped or unwrapped gifts to be taken into the venue.
Sprays / Aerosols
Under no circumstances will spray, party string or similar aerosol type sprays be permitted. All safety and fire regulations must be observed.
Damage to property
Any loss or damage to Sunderland AFC property is the responsibility of the client in whose name the party is booked.
Car Parking
We have extensive on-site free parking and whilst we cannot accept responsibility for the loss or damage to your vehicle while on the premises, by employing security personnel, we take great care to safeguard your property. In the event of a home match all cars must be off the premises before 09:00am.
Increase in VAT
We have the right to adjust our prices in conjunction with any VAT increases up to the date of the event.
