Preview: Lasses make trip to Vicarage Road

Mel Reay’s Sunderland side are back on the road this weekend against Watford as they enter the final three matches of the season with promotion remaining a real possibility.

The Lasses will be looking to claim maximum points when they travel to Vicarage Road in the Barclays Women’s Championship on Sunday afternoon (2pm)

Opposition

Watford sit 12th in the Barclays Women’s Championship with 12 points from 18 games. The Hornets have collected three wins, three draws and suffered 17 defeats so far this season.

The hosts have recorded just one win in their last eight home fixtures across all competitions, their only victory coming against promotion-pushing Birmingham City in February.

Sunderland came out on top the last time the teams went head-to-head, goals from Natasha Fenton and Mary McAteer enough to claim a 2-1 home victory.
