SAFC Women: Brenna McPartlan signs for the Lasses

Sunderland AFC Women are delighted to confirm the signing of Brenna McPartlan.

Brenna joins the Club on a permanent basis following time at Louisiana State University and will wear the number 28 shirt.

During her time as a Manchester City academy player, McPartlan captained the Sky Blues to a WSL Development League title and FA WSL Development League Cup.

The new signing, a holding midfielder by trade, expressed her joy at signing for the Club.

“I’m so excited to play for Sunderland and I’m excited for the second half of the season and to push on with this great team.”

The midfielder has also spent time in the USA, playing for South Alabama and Louisiana State University’s college teams, later graduating from LSU.

Head Coach Mel Reay also shared her delight at the new addition to the squad.

“Brenna is someone who we’ve been monitoring from a distance. She’s come from Louisiana State University and I know the Director of Soccer really well there, I coached her at college.

“She gives us a different dimension in midfield. She’s a natural defensive midfielder, she’s athletic, good in the air and she’s going to add depth to our midfield.”
