Ladies Preview: Lasses round off against Bristol City

SAFC Ladies will look to cap off their season on a high when they host Bristol City Women at Eppleton, as the FA Women’s Championship draws to a close on Sunday (KO 2pm).

Despite a tough 3-0 defeat at Durham last week, the Lasses have had a very productive season, with plenty of positives to build on in the Championship next term.

There are no fresh fitness concerns for the side ahead of Sunday’s game. Abby Towers is still unavailable for selection due to a knee injury.

Bristol City are currently sitting in third place in the division with 36 points, and could finish the year anywhere between fifth and second by the end of the day.

After a good run of form earlier this calendar year, the Robins have only claimed one point from their last four league games, and lost their last match – a 3-1 home defeat against second-placed London City Lionesses.

The visitors’ – and the league’s – top scorer, Abigail Harrison, has 17 goals to her name this season, scoring at least one goal in eight of Bristol City’s last nine matches.

Lauren Smith’s side won 2-1 at the Robins High Performance Centre in the reverse fixture against the Lasses back in October.

Supporters can follow the final game of the season’s action via a live stream on the official SAFC YouTube channel, and can view updates on the Lasses’ official Twitter.
