Preview: Blackburn Rovers come to the SoL

Sunderland look to make it back-to-back wins over the Easter Weekend as they welcome Blackburn Rovers to the Stadium of Light.

Blackburn Rovers currently sit 19th in the Sky Bet Championship table following their 1-0 defeat to Ipswich Town on Good Friday.

They will be looking for their first win in ten games having not tasted victory since the 3-1 win over Stoke City on February 10. John Eustace’s side have won 11 games, drawn nine and lost 19 from the current campaign.

Sammy Szmodics leads the goalscoring charts for the division with 21 goals in the league.

Only Rotherham United have conceded more goals in the league this season with 65 goals being scored against them.

Corry Evans remains in contention to feature against his old side having recently played minutes for the Under-21s after a 15 month lay-off through a long-term knee injury.

Aji Alese and Patrick Roberts will be looking for their first appearances for over a month having made the matchday squad for the Good Friday victory over Cardiff City.

Jack Clarke continues to work his way towards full fitness as he recovers from an ankle problem picked up in the defeat to Birmingham City last month.

Elliot Embleton and Dennis Cirkin are both out of contention whilst Jenson Seelt and Niall Huggins are both undergoing their rehabilitation programmes for their respective long-term injuries.
