International duty: Several players called-up

With the penultimate international break of the year upon us, several of Sunderland’s first-team players have received call-ups to their respective nations.

Here’s a lowdown of the Lads in action over the next fortnight…

Corry Evans – Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland currently sit third in Group J of the Nations League and face their final two group games. The first against Kosovo at Windsor Park before making the trip to the Georgios Kamaras Stadium to take on Greece.

Northern Ireland vs Kosovo – Saturday 24 September (KO 5pm)
Greece vs Northern Ireland – Tuesday 27 September (KO 7.45pm)

Jewison Bennette – Costa Rica

Ahead of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, Jewison Bennette and Costa Rica face their final two friendlies. Both fixtures will take place in South Korea.

South Korea vs Costa Rica – Friday 23 September (KO 12pm)
Uzbekistan vs Costa Rica – Tuesday 27 September (KO 7pm)

Trai Hume – Northern Ireland U21s

Trai Hume and Northern Ireland Under-21s face back-to-back friendlies against Scotland. The first will take place at Belfast’s Blanchflower Stadium, before heading to St Mirren’s SMiSA Stadium in Paisley.

Northern Ireland U21s vs Scotland U21s – Thursday 22 September (2.30pm)
Scotland U21s vs Northern Ireland U21s – Sunday 25 September (2pm)

Abdoullah Ba – France U20s

Abdoullah Ba has received his first call-up to the Under-20s side after representing the 16s, 17s and 19s. All three fixtures will take place in Tunisia.

Tunisia U20s vs France U20s – Wednesday 21 September (6pm local time)
Tunisia U20s vs France U20s – Saturday 24 September (6pm local time)
Club African vs France U20s – Monday 26 September (6pm local time)
