Team News: Mowbray on Simms, Roberts and injuries

Tony Mowbray has delivered the latest team news update ahead of Saturday's trip to Luton Town.

The Head Coach confirmed the welcome news that Ellis Simms is in contention to return, having not played in six weeks following a toe injury.

Mowbray would then offer the latest on several other recent absentees, including an encouraging update on Patrick Roberts.

“We hope Ellis will be back. He has felt it a bit on occasion, but he’s trained all week. When he does come back will be a huge boost for us.

“Ross Stewart and Dan Ballard are still out, and we won’t see Lynden Gooch or Aji Alese for a while yet - Lynden is likely to be a few weeks, so we'll hope to have him back for the break.

“Patrick trained on Thursday and came through well. If there’s no reaction on his hamstring, he’ll travel for the game. It seemed more fatigue-based than an injury, but you always have to be careful with a hamstring issue. Burnley was too soon to risk him.”
