Interview: Gooch excited for MK Dons trip

Lynden Gooch is looking forward to hearing the noise of the red and white army once again on Saturday.

Sunderland look set to be backed by another big away after selling out trips to Doncaster Rovers and Fleetwood Town during the festive period.

Riding the crest of a wave that seen the Black Cats move to the cusp of the play-off places after going six games unbeaten, Gooch is excited about this weekend’s hurdle at MK Dons as the Lads look to continue their run.

“It’s always important and nice to have a large backing with you,” he said.

“The support down at Doncaster (when we took 5,000 fans) was tremendous so we are hoping we can put in another good away performance and replicate that day.

"It’s been another clear week for us with no midweek game so we will be going into Saturday’s game fresh and ready to go.

“We want to start off like we have done in the last two games,” he continued.

“MK Dons have picked up a fair few results in the last couple of weeks, so it is going to be tough.

“It is a nice ground with a big pitch so hopefully we can go there and implement our style of play.”
