George Dobson: "Everyone is fighting for each other"

George Dobson has heralded the togetherness within the Sunderland team following their third straight League One win on Saturday.

The Black Cats were made to work hard for the points at MK Dons, with Lynden Gooch providing a moment of magic in the 79th minute to separate the two sides at full time.

With the three points moving the Lads back into the play-off mix, the victory also extends Sunderland’s unbeaten run to seven games.

And midfielder Dobson, who has started alongside Max Power in each of the last five games, has talked up the unity and spirit in the group as momentum continues to build.

“The boys are fighting for each other and we kept going and going,” he said.

“Goochie’s moment of brilliance erupted those scenes – it’s why we play football, so it was brilliant.

“The first half of the season was tough for everyone involved, but lately there has been a really good togetherness in the group.

“Training has been very sharp, and the quality has been very good.”

He continued: "What you can see from the way we are playing is a group of players who are fighting for each other.

“The fans give us an extra backing and that makes such a difference.

“We are in a good place, but we can’t rest on our laurels. We have got to take each game as it comes but now it’s obviously a case of resting up and focusing on the big game next Friday.”
