Manager's verdict:
Ross delighted with away win

Jack Ross praised the reaction of his players to come from behind and win at Accrington Stanley this afternoon.

Sunderland trailed inside five minutes when Jordan Clark found the net to give the hosts the lead at The Wham Stadium.

But Lynden Gooch’s volley saw the Black Cats respond almost immediately after the restart before two goals in ten minutes from Aiden McGeady and Marc McNulty helped the Lads to a 3-1 lead at the break.

That proved to be enough for the Lads to claim three points on the road ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Rotherham United at the Stadium of Light, who put six past Bolton Wanderers today.
