Jack Ross was left frustrated as Sunderland were forced to settle for their sixth draw in their last eight league matches following tonight’s draw with Blackpool.
Armand Gnanduillet arrowed home a 25-yard strike moments after the half-hour mark to stun Sunderland after their bright start.
The Black Cats had their chances to level. Aiden McGeady flicked the outside of the post from a free-kick before Will Grigg hit the side-netting after rounding the ‘keeper.
Sunderland’s persistence did pay off eventually, however, as Jack Baldwin headed home his first goal at the Stadium of Light to earn the lads a deserved point.
