Fifa World Cup: Khazri set for opener

Wahbi Khazri will be looking to dampen English spirits this evening when Tunisia begin their FIFA World Cup campaign (KO 7pm).

The 27-year-old is expected to figure in Tunisia’s attacking line this evening after enjoying an impressive season in Ligue 1 on loan with Rennes.

Khazri did however miss the end of Rennes’ domestic season after picking up a thigh strain.

Tunisia qualified for the World Cup unbeaten after seeing off the Democratic Republic of Congo in two key games over five days before advancing through the group phase with six wins from eight games.

For England, meanwhile, former Sunderland duo Jordan Pickford and Jordan Henderson are expected to line-up in Gareth Southgate’s side.

Pickford is in line to make his first appearance for the Three Lions at a major tournament while Henderson will hope to make his fourth tournament appearance tonight.

The game will kick-off at 7pm and you can watch all the action on BBC One.
