Feet on the ground:
Kimpioka ready to work

Despite a dream debut, Benji Kimpioka is keeping his feet on the ground.

The Swedish starlet made his first-team bow on Saturday against Hartlepool United, and he marked it in style with a stunning solo effort clinching a draw in added time.

After seeing a host of his under-23 team-mates step up to senior level in recent times, Kimpioka is keen to follow in their footsteps.

But the winger admits the hard work starts now, and he’s refusing to get carried away.

“It was great to score,” grinned Kimpioka after the game.

“It was a really proud moment for me and it feels good, so I’m really happy.”

He continued: “I’m glad I got the chance to play, but I’ve got to keep working hard and keep improving.

“I’ve got to keep my feet on the ground because it’s easy to get carried away, and I’ll be honest, that’s happened before with me when I stepped up to the under-23s.

“I know the consequences of that, so now I need to work even harder.”
