Jack Ross has demanded more of a cutting edge from his side after they drew at Hartlepool United this afternoon.

Benji Kimpioka’s late strike from range on his first outing for the senior squad earned the lads a draw after Niko Muir’s earlier opener.

While Josh Maja and Callum McManaman both had a host of chances to stamp their mark on the scoreline, the lads struggled to make inroads until Swedish youngster Kimpioka stepped up from distance.

And speaking to safc.com at a baked Victoria Park, manager Ross delivered his verdict on proceedings.

“It was obviously very warm, so the conditions were tough to play in,” he said.

“Fitness wise we were good, and I said after the game in midweek there were a lot of things to improve on and I thought we did that in certain aspects we did that today.

“By and large I thought we were good and we dominated the vast majority of the game.”

He continued: “The goal were conceded was disappointing but there were a lot of things that were good today and that gives us another platform to build on.”
