Team news: McManaman joins injured ranks

Chris Coleman has revealed that Callum McManaman will be among the group of players to miss Saturday’s trip to Bristol City.

The winger is set to return to action ahead of next weekend’s Stadium of Light showdown against Brentford, with Lamine Kone and Marc Wilson also unavailable at Ashton Gate.

Meanwhile, Paddy McNair and Jonny Williams will continue to build their fitness with the under-23s, alongside Brendan Galloway, when Elliott Dickman’s side take on Exeter City (A) on Sunday.

“Marc Wilson is still a no,” revealed Coleman.

“Paddy McNair will get some game time with the under-23s this weekend, as will Jonny Williams and Brendan Galloway, and then Paddy will maybe need another hit with the under-23s before he comes with us or maybe a week’s training.”

He continued: “We still don’t have Lamine and there’s no Callum McManaman either.

“Callum should be back next week and he’s progressed quite nicely this week.

“We think Robbin’s going to be out between eight and 12 weeks because it’s a bad dislocation, so Lee [Camp] and Jason [Steele] can fight it out.

“I think it was lucky that deal fell through in the end and he [Jason] looked good last week, he trained really hard and played for the under-23s and did really well.”
