View from the opposition: Jokanovic on Sunderland

Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic has urged his players to turn up the heat on Cardiff City in the race for automatic promotion.

The Cottagers sit just one point behind the Bluebirds with two Sky Bet Championship games remaining, with Jokanovic’s men chasing down Neil Warnock’s side thanks to an incredible unbeaten run of 22 games.

Sunderland, meanwhile, will be playing for pride after Burton Albion’s late comeback ensured they will be playing League One football next season.

But Jokanovic is wary of the threat Chris Coleman’s men pose, with their last defeat coming against the Lads back in December.

“We have positive pressure before we play against Sunderland,” said the Fulham boss.

“It’s important we don’t make mistakes, but the situation is completely under Cardiff’s control and If they win these two games, we cannot do anything.”

He continued: “We must be focused on trying to find our best performance [against Sunderland].

“In front of us is two ways to be successful, one is short and another is longer and we must be ready for both ways.

“Sunderland is a team that beat us last time, we are ready for any team and any situation, they come here relaxed and try to make Sunderland fans satisfied, try to be proud.

“This can be dangerous situation for us and we must be ready.”
