Chris Coleman cut a frustrated figure as Sunderland were made to settle for just a point for the third match running.

While the Black Cats trailed at the break through Liam Kelly’s penalty, a thunderbolt from Paddy McNair and a header from skipper Lee Cattermole turned the match on it’s head.

But substitute Yann Kermorgant ensured the points were split as he nodded home a cross from the right 11 minutes from time to leave the lads six adrift with three to play.

“That’s the third game where we have been leading and dominating,” he said.

“We are doing everything but taking three points and that’s harsh on the players because they are putting everything in.

“We just can’t get over the line for those vital three points.

“That’s the fifth game now where we have been the better team, the more dominant team, but we just can’t get those vital points after so much effort.

“There wasn’t a lot wrong with the performance,” he continued.

“The mentality of the players was fantastic and again our brilliant travelling support was with us throughout.

“They were driving us on and the players rose to them.”
