Team news: Wilson ruled out of Preston trip

Simon Grayson has revealed Marc Wilson will miss Saturday’s trip to Preston North End.

Wilson, 31, has been a regular fixture in Grayson’s backline since joining on transfer deadline day in August from Premier League club AFC Bournemouth.

The defender’s evening was cut short on Tuesday against Ipswich Town when he came off after 51 minutes at Portman Road.

And speaking at his pre-Preston press conference, Grayson admitted he will be without the experienced Republic of Ireland defender for this weekend’s trip to Deepdale.

“Wilson will be out, he has been suffering with a groin injury over the last 10 days or so,” he said.

“He will be one of the only ones who will be unavailable this weekend.

“We would all love to pick the same team week in week out because that means the team are winning.

“When you are not winning you have got to try and find a winning formula to try and get a result for you,” he continued.

“Whatever team we put out at Preston will be one that is determined, hardworking and not an easy touch to lose the game.”
