John O’Shea captains the Black Cats and starts in the centre of defence alongside Lamine Kone, as Darron Gibson, Jack Rodwell and Didier Ndong form the central midfield.
Up top, Wahbi Khazri, who was on target at Easter Road, is tasked with supplying Lynden Gooch as Josh Maja and Jeremain Lens – Sunderland’s other pre-season scorers – start on the bench.
Lamine Kone, Lee Cattermole and George Honeyman are also amongst the substitutes.
