Loan watch:
Coates' perfect start

Seb Coates – Sporting Lisbon 2-1 FC Porto

Sporting CP and Seb Coates made it three wins from three at the start of the 2016-17 season as they ended FC Porto’s perfect start to the campaign with a 2-1 win.

On-loan Coates once again completed 90 minutes but Sporting fell behind after just eight minutes as Felipe opened the scoring.

A response was swift as Islam Slimani equalised seven minutes later before Gelson Martins scored what proved to be the winner with 26 minutes on the clock.

Sporting are the only side to win their first the games of the season in Portugal’s top tier.

Will Buckley – Brentford 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Will Buckley was an unused substitute as Sheffield Wednesday rescued a late point at Brentford.

Lasse Vibe opened the scoring in the second period before being sent off two minutes from time, with Sam Hutchinson netting last-gasp equaliser for Wednesday who had David Jones dismissed.

Adam Matthews – Bristol City 3-1 Aston Villa

Adam Matthews missed Bristol City’s impressive 3-1 win over Aston Villa at Ashton Gate with the Wales defender ruled out for up to four weeks due to a hamstring injury.
