ACADEMY MANAGER - FULL TIME, 40 HOURS PER WEEK

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Academy Manager to join Sunderland AFC’s EPPP Category 1 Academy, overseeing the Youth Development department.

The successful applicant will have responsibility for delivering and implementing the strategic plan to shape the success and future direction of the club’s youth development department, its players, staff and stakeholders. The EPPP Category 1 programme requires an individual with the experience, passion and drive to promote the academy’s philosophy and culture, coordinating the development of our young players across all age groups to reach their potential and produce players for the First Team.

The Academy Manager will have first class communication and customer service skills, be able to demonstrate that they can multi-task, have reasonable knowledge of all Microsoft packages (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel), and are at all times professional and discreet. You should be in possession of both a valid Disclosure and Barring certificate and the FA Safeguarding qualification

The position is full time (40 hours per week, Monday-Sunday), with working hours being flexible around business demands and include evening and weekend work as required, including match attendance and special events. You will be required to undertake any specific training or Continued Professional Development to maintain up-to-date knowledge and qualifications, and/or as organised by the club.

To ensure total commitment and to meet the demands of the role it is expected the successful candidate will relocate so they are in close proximity to the academy.
