The Stadium of Light will celebrate its 20th anniversary this July and we want the red and white army to play a key role in remembering the many highs we’ve enjoyed since departing Roker Park.
From record-breaking title wins to great escapes and derby-day joy, the Stadium of Light has played host to fantastic games, stunning goals and some of the greatest players in the club’s history.
And now you have the chance to have your say on the cream of the crop!
Over the next few weeks, safc.com will be hosting the SoL20 awards with supporters able to vote for the best goals, games and players from our time at the Stadium of Light, while also being able to select their Stadium of Light XI with Dafabet.
The Former Players’ Association will also be picking the best save at the SoL and the winners will be announed in July giving you plenty of time to vote.
Speaking ahead of the voting, club legend Kevin Ball said: “I have so many memories of the stadium of light from the very first game to the present day, so it’s great that the supporters have a chance to pick the moments that have mattered to them most over the last 20 years.
“I’ve already picked my favourite goals, games and players during our time at the stadium, and I can’t wait to see who comes out on top because there’s been so many great moments that I’ll never forget, so get voting!”

The logo is a simple solution to convey our celebration. Upon rotating the text to read vertically, the commemorative 20 was discovered. The logo encourages the viewer to reminisce about the memories entwined with their experiences of the stadium.
