The Academy of Light is set to host a prestigious youth tournament with Europe's best academies travelling to Wearside this weekend.
The Premier League Under-15 International Tournament will take place from Friday 8 March to Sunday 10 with the following teams: Sunderland, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Brighton, West Brom, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Everton, Liverpool, PSV Eindhoven, Sporting Lisbon and Bayern Munich.
The tournament format will follow the current Champions League format with a group stage section followed by the knockout fixtures.
Academy Manager, Robin Nicholls added: "It is great to be hosting the PL U15 International Tournament here at the AoL. We will be welcoming the best academies from around the world to the Northeast. The competition will be a fantastic challenge for our staff and players and will present us with a great opportunity to develop."
