The Reds registered an 8-0 victory over Huddersfield Town on matchday 5.

Warren Joyce is currently the lead coach of the U21s.

The 58-year-old made over 600 senior career appearances for the likes of Burnley, Bolton and Hull City.

Joyce started coaching at Bury while still a player at Burnley. In 1993 he joined Manchester United F.C.'s U-16s, where he worked with renowned youth coach Eric Harrison and helped develop talents such as Wes Brown and David Healy.

The former midfielder went on to manage at Royal Antwerp, Wigan Athletic, Melbourne FC and Salford Academy before arriving at the Forest Academy.

The two sides have already met once this season with the Black Cats coming out 5-0 winners in the Premier League 2 fixture.

An Eliezer Mayenda double and Tommy Watson, Michael Spellman and Caden Kelly were all on the scoresheet in January.

Premier League Cup

The last 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will all be one-off knockout ties. If the ties are level after 90 minutes, they go to extra-time and then penalties if the teams still can't be separated.

Graeme Murty’s side qualified after three wins from five. Two wins against Bristol City and a home victory over Peterborough.

This is the furthest the Black Cats have gone in the cup since the 2018-19 campaign.
