Sunderland AFC can confirm that Matty Young has joined Darlington FC on a one-month loan deal.
The goalkeeper joins the Quakers in the National League North.
The 17-year-old signed his first professional contract with the Club in November and has already featured for the first team during the pre-season tour of the USA. Young will now link up with Steve Watson’s side ahead of their upcoming fixtures against South Shields and Boston United.
Academy Manager, Robin Nicholls added: “The opportunity to spend time with a club like Darlington will be excellent for Matty's development. He is a young man who has already had a good range of experiences, and this will provide another step in the right direction for him."
