Sunderland AFC Under-18 scholars will be embarking on a pre-season tour to the Netherlands this summer in conjunction with Erasmus, combining education with football.
The trip, running from July 11-24, will be centred around an education project as the SAFC youngsters analyse the similarities and differences between Dutch and British grassroots facilities, style of football and culture.
The UK’s grassroots facility to be compared to SAFC’s summer base in the Netherlands was chosen as Hebburn Juniors, with the U18 players and staff visiting last Wednesday.
SAFC described Hebburn as being very accommodating as Juniors Vice-Chairman Steve Richardson demonstrated their training facility to the young Lads.
