Preview: Stoke City U23s vs Sunderland U23s

Sunderland Under-23s will look to make it three wins on the bounce in the Premier League 2 Division 2 as they travel to the Lyme Valley Stadium to face Stoke City Under-23s on Sunday (KO 3pm).

The Lads are in good form, with two away victories at Aston Villa and Reading moving them up to 10th in the league with 12 points on the board.

Benji Kimpioka marked his return to the Sunderland side – after returning from a short loan spell with Southend United – with an impressive hat-trick, spearheading a 3-0 win against the Royals last Monday.

Will Harris, Ollie Younger and Ellis Taylor could all be involved after being unused substitutes during Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup clash with Mansfield Town.

Stoke City currently sit fifth in the league table, with 17 points from 10 games, just behind Burnley and Aston Villa on goal difference.

The Potters are on a good run of form, unbeaten in the last four league games with their most recent result a 2-0 home victory over Wolves.

There will be no streaming available for the fixture, but supporters can follow the action via the club’s Twitter account @SunderlandAFC.
