Lee Connelly has joined South Shields on a short-term youth loan.
The 19-year-old, who has been in Sunderland’s youth system for the last three years, joins fellow under-23s team-mate Jordan Hunter at Mariners Park.
Connelly made his first-team debut last October in the Lads’ 3-1 win at home to Carlisle United in the Checkatrade Trophy.
The Scottish striker now links up with The Mariners in the BetVictor Northern Premier League Premier Division to further his development in senior football.
