U23s:
New deals for Hume and Beadling

Sunderland under-23s defenders Denver Hume and Tom Beadling have put pen to paper on new contracts at the Stadium of Light.

Hume, who hails from Northumberland, joined the Black Cats at the age of 10 and has since risen through the age groups to the development team.

Despite missing the first few months of the 2016-17 season, the 18-year-old battled back to fitness and was part of the impressive development team that reached the Premier League International Cup final in May.

Since then, Hume got his first taste of first-team action where he featured in Sunderland’s opening pre-season match at Bury, assisting Josh Maja’s match-winning volley with a cross from the left.

Hume has penned a two-year deal which will seem him remain at the Stadium of Light until the end of the 2018-19 season.

Also agreeing a new contract at Sunderland is Beadling, who has been at the club since he was eight.

The 21-year-old spent the second-half of last season on loan at Sky Bet League One side Bury and has since enjoyed pre-season in and around the Black Cats’ first-team squad.

Beadling has penned a one-year deal at the Stadium of Light which will see him remain on Wearside until the end of the 2017-18 season.
